What are the benefits of a Garcia Family Medicine membership?
One word... Availability.
Dr. Tess is there when you need her.
You get unlimited office visits at no additional charge—and they'll be as long as you need. Typically, you will be able to book a same-day or next-day appointment, sometimes directly through our website. You will have access to Dr. Tess’s cell phone number, so you will be able to call or text her with any medical questions as needed. Simple diagnostics (e.g. strep tests) and other tests may be performed in office for a small additional charge (or no charge at all). If you have a major issue, Dr. Tess and her team will coordinate any specialist referrals or hospital care.
Below is a comprehensive list of services, but not exclusive, for members of Garcia Family Medicine:
Treating common everyday problems like colds, flu, strep throat, rashes, burns, joint injuries, and other wounds.
Keeping you up-to-date on all recommended preventative screening, like colonoscopies, pap smears, and EKGs.
Managing chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or thyroid disorder.
Performing minor procedures. If you need a minor procedure like a mole removal, joint injection, stitches, or a simple cosmetic procedure.
Providing medications and labs at wholesale prices (bold "Providing"). A comprehensive review of systems at your very first in-person appointment.
Being a member of Garcia Family Medicine is like having a medical provider in the family. Your provider will always be in your corner, working to keep you as healthy as possible. Healthcare as it should be.
Does the subscription cost model really save money?
The typical monthly fee is about as much as your cell phone bill. That's a small price to pay for a level of care you literally cannot get anywhere else.
But will it really save money?
You bet! Let's go over some common scenarios where a subscription based membership can save you money.
1. You're taking multiple medications.
If you're taking multiple medications and paying with insurance for all of them, your co-pays are probably stacking up. Garcia Family Medicine will dispense common medications directly from our office SOON. Convenient and purchased at wholesale prices with savings passed on to you. List of Included Medications
2. You have a minor injury.
If you get in a minor accident, need stitches, or require urgent medical care of any sort you will probably go to an urgent care or the emergency room. In the best base scenario, the urgent care center is in your insurance network and you pay a high co-pay—up to $100 or $250.00 in some cases. As a member of Garcia Family Medicine you have your provider’s phone number to reach for urgent care and at no additional office visit cost.
3. You're overpaying for insurance.
If you are on an insurance plan named after a precious metal, you should not be. As a Garcia Family Medicine member the majority of your healthcare will be taken care of by your provider. All standard care, wound treatment, blood work, preventative screens, and physicals will either be included in your membership or provided at a fair price. If Garcia Family Medicine is not equipped to deal with a medical issue, that means it is serious. And if it is serious, then you will very likely hit your out-of-pocket maximum (OOP) which means insurance is covering the cost.
4. You care about your health.
Garcia Family Medicine is more than health care, it is preventative wellness. You do not have to be rich to have a personal medical provider on speed dial to answer questions, keep track of preventative screenings, advise on your diet and lifestyle and actually care about you, the person and not about seeking reimbursement for a service.
Do I still need insurance as a Direct Primary Care patient?
Yes, you will still need insurance for hospitalization, illness such as cancer or major accident. However, you can reduce your insurance coverage because your primary care is covered by your membership to Garcia Family Medicine. You should consider a “high deductible” catastrophic plan.
Do you see patients with Medicare?
Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to see patients with Medicare.
